WEYPORT SWIMMERS

At the AGM is was agreed to change the name from Weyport Masters Swimming Club to Weyport Swimmers to reflect that is for swimmers of all ages (18+) and abilities whether for fitness, to improve their technique for open water swimming, triathlons or traditional competitive swimming.

It provides a comprehensive schedule for every swimming session throughout the year for swimmers to use as and when they need to. It is run for the swimmers by the swimmers who volunteer and is non-profit making with the exclusive use of a swimming pool three times a week giving the choice of six lanes to swim in under the watchful eye of coach Kate Mason who is also on the pool side for individual coaching on most Wednesday evenings.

Collecting cash fees for every session is now dated and was an onerous task. Also, the pool costs have to be met every month of the year regardless of the number of swimmers attending. It was unanimously agreed by all the members attending the AGM plus the Committee that from 1st January 2018 members be asked to commit to a twelve-month standing order.

For one sessions per week £15.00 per month
For two sessions per week £20.00 per month
For three sessions per week £25.00 per month

Members may choose which sessions they wish to attend each week and will be required to sign a register for each swim.

There will no longer be an Annual Membership Fee of £35.00 making the above, hopefully, a very attractive proposition for current members as your first two or three standing orders just cover this leaving the remaining months to cover a full year of swimming at a very reasonable rate even if you do not swim every week or even all year.

New members will be allowed to swim for up to two sessions prior to committing to the standing order and will be required to pay £6.00 for those sessions. Extra sessions for members will also be £6.00 per swim.
